Employee Testimonials

Eliasar Rosales
MILBURN has a more modern point-of-view, as opposed to the old-school mentality that so many companies in this industry have. They’re not opposed to new ideas for safety, which is a big deal to me. When I worked for other companies, they put people in such narrow roles. There is very little room for growth. MILBURN has a different mentality, which is similar to my own mentality. If somebody doesn’t know how to do something, we should teach them.

MILBURN has a family-oriented feel to it also. Everything just clicks here. There’s really good teamwork on all levels of the company. There’s no one out for themselves here. Nobody acts like they’re a superstar. Part of that is due to the organization. This is a much more organized company than I’ve ever worked for, and there’s great leadership from the top down. It’s hard for me to explain how much better MILBURN is than the previous company I worked for.

FAQS

What's your company culture? +

We base our culture around training our employees and empowering them to work safely. We also firmly believe in a “one company, one family” mentality. We strive to create an atmosphere where all of our employees love to go to work, and take pride in what they do.

Will I have to work night-time shifts? +

A significant portion of our work happens during off-hours and during the night. We try our best to accommodate our employees’ schedules outside of MILBURN.

Where are your offices located? +

MILBURN Demolition is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. And, to better serve our customers in the Southeast, we now have offices in Tampa, Florida. We often do work throughout the midwest, Chicagoland area, and in Florida; however, team members who are willing to travel can help us tackle projects throughout the United States as well.

Do I need to have demolition experience? +

We’re always looking for experienced team members for our demolition crews. However, above all, we value fit. If you don’t have any experience, and you’re ready to work hard and do the right thing, you can start as an apprentice and work your way up!

In other words: demolition or construction experience is welcomed and respected but we’re also committed to training tomorrow’s demolition experts.

Do you provide training? +

Yes. We offer hands-on, on-the-job training. In fact, our attention to detail and commitment to technology and safety are the keys to what makes MILBURN a different kind of demolition contractor.

Every team member participates in safety training regardless of their level of experience. We expect our foremen to mentor, train, and lead our teams with a safety-focused mindset. Many of our long-standing team members started on small projects and have worked their way up to leadership positions. There’s always room to grow at MILBURN.

What safety precautions do you take? +

We train — and retrain — all of our team members to make sure that we’re all on the same page and up-to-date on the latest safety protocols. Our foremen serve as mentors and teachers. We foster a culture of respect so that our laborers and operators can feel comfortable communicating ideas, and concerns, with our leaders.

“MILBURN has a more modern point-of-view … They’re not opposed to new ideas for safety, which is a big deal to me … If somebody doesn’t know how to do something, we should teach them.” — Eliasar Rosales, Corporate Safety Director.

Some of the ways we achieve this include:

  • Mandatory PPE (provided)
  • Daily safety meetings
  • Job hazard analysis
  • Daily stretching
  • Safety certifications
